WZ Series Eddy Current Brake

  • Commodity name: WZ Series Eddy Current Brake
  • Product Description
  • The WZ series eddy current brake is driven by a YZR metallurgical and crane-use wound-rotor three-phase induction motor. The motor’s mechanical characteristics are combined with those of the eddy current brake, allowing for enhanced speed control performance and an expanded speed regulation range when controlled via the appropriate circuitry.

    Under any load condition, the crane adjusts the excitation current of the eddy-current brake to generate a controllable braking torque on the motor shaft, ensuring smooth lifting and lowering as well as precise positioning. Examples include container cranes, metallurgical cranes, and construction cranes.

    Lifting equipment such as shipyards and pull-out workstations, equipped with eddy current brakes, can enhance their mechanical properties.

    Installation type: B3;

    Steel machine base, cast iron end caps;

    Protection rating: IP23 (junction box located on top of the base, with a protection rating of IP44);

    Cooling method: IC0141;

    The rotor consists of a steel cylinder with cooling fins welded onto the rotating shaft;

    The frame number (center height) is compatible with standard wound-rotor motors;

    The base foot is designed with a grounding device for installation purposes.

    If a dual-shaft extension or vertical installation (V1) is required, please consult with the manufacturer.

    The work schedule is S3, with a continuous load rate of 15%.
